A good kick up the....you know where!

About 3 weeks ago I committed to doing a 50k in 40 days challenge. A nano in June so to speak.

What was I thinking???

Okay, so I only committed to 30 k. Clever me. However, it's been soooo difficult to get into the writing. I can give lots of excuses, and quite frankly, some of them are quite valid, but at the end of the day, my head seems to be fighting me on this.

I don't have a lot of spare time these days, what with a challenging day job, a family of 6 (who all live at home!), and some chronic back issues. But if PD James can get up and write in the early hours of the morning and still look after a sick husband and lots of kids, why can't I?

Writing is a habit, and although I spend a lot of my time thinking about writing, thinking about characters, plot twists, storylines...etc, I really have to sit down and write. Anything. No matter what.

So to help me focus, I have decided that for the remainder of this month I will come here every day to post my progress. It will keep me accountable...even if it's just to myself. If no one reads my posts, it doesn't matter. I will write and I will post!

So here goes...it's Sunday morning now...and I will drop back later tonight and post my progress.

HI H...thanks for checking up on me!

I got the grand total of 1205 words done today...so not so bad. Could be better, but a start. The best thing is that I have plotted out the next third of the story, so I now have a road map to follow.

No more excuses!
